Japanese Soaking Tub-the Refreshing Way To Enjoy Your Baths

Japanese Soaking Tub

A Japanese soaking tub is more than just a bathroom accessory—it’s your sure-fire ticket to a truly enjoyable and relaxing bath. It’s really helpful in easing tired muscles and mind. So, if you’re finding yourself in need of a rejuvenating bath, you might just find what you need from a Japanese soaking tub.

A Japanese soaking tub, or Furo (bath) tub, is traditionally created to be very deep and tall to allow full body submersion. It has a rounded or squared feature and is typically made from wood; other types use granite, stainless steel, acrylic glass, and tile. In terms of purpose, this can be compared to the modern-day Jacuzzi or hot tub.

A Japanese-style hot tub is not originally meant for bathing—it is traditionally used for relaxation purposes only. In fact, in an onsen public bath, bathers are strictly required to clean their body before going into the hot water. (An onsen is an outdoor or indoor hot spring bathing facility in Japan.)

In Japan, public freestanding soaking tubs are an important aspect in the people’s lives. They go to public baths to unwind and re-energize their body. But, they also believe that heated water, particularly the onsen water, brings more than just relaxation; they believe that it can heal their body because of its rich mineral composition.

The Japanese has strict rules when it comes to ensuring cleanliness of their public baths. Guests should have already cleansed their body before dipping into the water. Any types of clothing or towels should not be brought along, although there are some modern bathing facilities that allow guests to do that.

Due to poor sanitation practices by some bathing facilities, public hot tubs are reported to be good sources of infectious diseases. But that won’t be such a big problem in today’s modern world. There are plenty of technologies that will guarantee you of clean water all the time—take the hot tub ozonator as an example.

A hot tub ozonator is installed in spas or hot tubs to act as a water filtration device. The good thing about this is that it cleanses the water without using too much chemicals. You can even install this to your existing spa using kits, which are widely available in easy-to-install types.

If you’re seriously contemplating to try out a Japanese-style bathroom hot tub, you can check out the Beverly Series from Americh soaking tub product line. You can choose between two models, which are available in acrylic or gelcoat options. Depending on the package and type, you can expect to spend approximately $1,264 to $5,819, excluding the shipping fee.

Today, you really don’t have to go to Japan just to dip into an ofuro tub. You can buy one for your home. There are plenty of online hot tub companies out there that offer a great array of styles, sizes, materials, and packages for their Japanese soaking tub products.

I love your blog so much- I tried telling peploe this while I was pregnant (my husband kept telling me not to kill the little person when I took showers, because I LOVE hot showers), but of course no one really listens to the pregnant woman anyway I didn't get that big during my pregnancy and I continued to sleep on my back up until I delivered- sleeping on your side every night really gets uncomfortable, I thought. It really doesn't make sense that they say not to do that, and then expect women to labor and deliver in that same position!
